Rumors were circulating about the return of Nokia in Smartphone market and now an official announcement made by its representatives and confirmed its return in the year of 2017. It is expected that Nokia will showcase its first upcoming new Smartphone next year on the event of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. In an official meeting held with the major shareholders and investors took place on 15th November 2016, where they revealed its future business plans. Nokia returns Smartphone industry is good news for those who used to be Nokia lovers before Smartphone revolution hits the market.
Nokia is itself not manufacturing the Smartphone but will be responsible for supervising the oversees manufacturing operations as phones will be built by third parties on the behalf of Nokia and also sold under its brand name. Apple is doing the same manufacturing its iPhone in China and third party is a big company name Foxconn. Nokia has sold out its whole operations to Microsoft which also includes production factories and currently only enjoying the patents rights.
HMD Global, It is a Finnish based company started by former employees of Nokia and made ten years agreement which allows the company to be using the Nokia brand name for the Smartphone designed by HMD Global and also responsible for its marketing and selling. As per the agreement, they will spend ten billion dollars for its marketing in three years and reach the Nokia’s sales at highest level. They have also sub-contracted to the Foxconn for manufacturing Nokia’s Smartphone; they are the same third party which built N1 Tablet for Nokia.
It is quite possible that Nokia returns Smartphone industry with the launch of Nokia D1C having potential to attracts big number of buyers. It’s a Full HD Display Smartphone and powered by Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. Its optical department is also much impressive having 13 MP back and 8 MP front cameras while running on Android 7 Nougat.
