All Pak Ambassadors of 116 countries have started hearing of overseas Pakistanis complaints on the initiative of Federal ombudsman of Pakistan on weekly basis without any prior appointment in their respective country.
Grievance commissioner for overseas Pakistanis and Senior Adviser (Law) to Mr M Salman Faroqui federal ombudsman of Pakistan Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar said that on the initiative of federal ombudsman all Pak ambassadors around the world have started listening of complaints of overseas Pakistanis in their respective embassy on weekly basis without any prior appointment and are resolving overseas problems and submitting regular progress reports including reporting of systemic issues of overseas Pakistanis for their resolutions to federal ombudsman secretariat.
He said that it has further been decided to hear complaints of overseas Pakistanis through video link and Skype from those countries first where Pakistan Community welfare Attaches (CWAs) are posted and performing their welfare services. These countries where federal ombudsman secretariat will start include Saudi Arab, Italy, Masqat, UAEC, UK ,Korea and many others. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar Grievance commissioner for overseas Pakistanis to federal ombudsman Pakistan said that instructions for implement ion of directions of federal ombudsman have been issued to Ministry of overseas and Overseas Pakistanis Foundation and the matter has been fixed in next week.
He also said in a statement that further directions have been issued to Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Bureau of Emigration and Managing to make arrangements in next two months for the celebration of One Day in a year as Overseas Pakistanis Day on 18th December every year to recognize the contribution of 8.1 million Overseas Pakistanis living in 218 countries and regions.
Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar Grievance commissioner for overseas Pakistanis said that more steps will be taken for increasing the home remittances of Overseas Pakistanis through banking channels with co-ordination of State Bank of Pakistan and Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, Bureau of Emigration. He said that awareness campaign for resolution of overseas Pakistanis will be launched very soon with the co-ordination of Ministry of information and newly appointed information officers for different countries have been called for briefing in next week in federal Ombudsman secretariat.
He said for swift resolution of overseas complaints 8 one window facilitation desks have been established with the officials of 12 relevant federal government agencies at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshwar, Quetta, Multan, Sialkot and Faisalabad airports which have benefited to more than 320000 passengers and overseas Pakistanis. He said efforts are being undertaken with a plan of awareness for the recent initiatives of Federal Ombudsman so that overseas Pakistanis will know to file their complaints/ grievances against Federal Government Departments.
